Dang, that’s a good looking couple, if I do say so myself.

This story starts with a guy and the Golden State.

It was the summer of 2017, and my boyfriend, Rob, and I, took a little vacation to Los Angeles. I had been to California before, and had been pretty underwhelmed, if not disgusted by L.A. The hype just didn’t live up and I, a New Jersey girl, preferred my pizza and bagels to overpriced sushi and tacos.

Something felt different this time around though. The palm trees were taller and greener. The ocean was crisper. The views were more breathtaking.

I felt a sense of freedom I hadn’t before.

“People live here,”

I thought to myself as we drove down the Pacific Coast Highway.

“We could live here.”

As the Universe would have it, Rob got a job offer in LA not even four months later, and I, eager for a new adventure, found myself packing away the life I had known in the Garden State for 30 years to join him.

As someone who self-identifies, and was also often called out as a free spirit, it was a no-brainer.

Our lives only offer us so many opportunities to be brave and step a half a world away from our comfort zones.

Just because it was obvious though, doesn’t mean it was easy.

I left all my friends and family behind for a place where I knew virtually no one.

A victim of unpopular girl syndrome, it was felt like an unconquerable battle to fit in among the women of Beverly Hills, Brentwood and Bel-Air.

But, it turns out the people here were craving creativity, and a unique way to stand out, all while embracing every last bit of their authentic (and often hidden) selves.

It’s the same type of courage that it takes to keep climbing the entrepreneurial mountain, from your first year in business to fifth, sixth, seventh and beyond.

And when you get there, it will still require the same type of bold & brave initiative I know you’re waiting to take when it comes to giving your brand a fresh, new look.

And I know you’re ready. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here.

So make that courageous first step. Book an exploratory call with me using the button below.

Okay, but what are your qualifications, Bernadette?

Oh right…the resume. Actually, this is a pretty good story, too.

I am a former journalist, photojournalist and video journalist. And because I’m a multi-passionate millennial, I also have the titles of art director, graphic designer, and publicist under my belt.

All of these experiences mean three important things:

  • I know exactly how to connect with people,

  • make them feel comfortable and excited to tell me their stories,

  • and then translate those stories into powerful visuals that captivate and audience.

Okay, yes, you are definitely my soul photographer. Let’s get on a call, stat.
