Los Angeles Brand Photography for a Podcast Launch
These podcast launch photos for Carly Jo Bell of @WholeCoMedia are a total mood and that mood is mad money, yo.
Carly wants entrepreneurs to sell chocolate.
“Throughout my years in business, I’ve seen so many entrepreneurs with amazing expertise and offers struggling to make the level of sales they want to make, in part because they’re focusing their messaging on selling what they know their audience needs (the broccoli), rather than focusing their messaging on selling what their audience thinks they want (the chocolate),” she says.
Carly took her mission to the airwaves, launching a podcast called, you guessed it, “Selling Chocolate,” which was our theme for her brand shoot.
A few tips on podcast cover art when you're launching a new show:
☝🏼 Make it colorful. You want your podcast cover photo to stand out among the rest.
✌🏼 Less is more. Taking photos against a neutral background gives your images a lot of versatility.
🙌🏼 Be REAL. Using a photo vs. a design or typography translates to more authenticity. Make sure your photo is an accurate representation of your brand voice and aesthetic.
Carly has a very colorful brand, so step one was finding the perfect location that had her brand aesthetic. We found a studio downtown that had a big, bright yellow wall – Carly’s main brand color.
We wanted to make sure the chocolate was impressive, so we sought out the biggest bars we could find, along with a solid, fresh stalk of broccoli, the combination of which made one Trader Joe’s employee very curious.
Lastly, because Carly’s show is all about guiding entrepreneurs in how to create offers that will bring in the big bucks, we got ourselves some prop money to showcase how selling their chocolate can make it rain.
