SF Bay Area Event Videography: Weekend @ The Pitch Club
Weekend @ The Pitch Club is by far one of our favorite events to do video for, and this year’s event was a really special one for Solhaus Media.
It wasn’t that long ago that Solhaus Media was still just a one-woman show with me behind the camera. And I was also pretty exclusively only doing brand photography at that time – I rarely mentioned or marketed the fact that I also did video.
But when Instagram announced that they’d be shifting their focus to video in 2022, I decided to stop hiding behind this story I was telling myself that I wasn’t good enough to offer video.
That same year, Rebecca Cafiero, who is the founder of Pitch Club, needed a videographer for her annual event called Weekend at the Pitch Club. I knew that it was an event for women business owners, and I also knew that the pool of event videographers was mostly populated by men.
Don’t get me wrong, I learned a lot of great things from some really nice male videographers, and the vast majority of them are super helpful and nice.
But I also knew that the energy of having a woman behind the video camera at a woman’s business development event would reinforce the energy of empowerment that is usually at the core of these gatherings.
What happened next became a lifelong partnership. I joined Rebecca’s Inner Circle mastermind the next year, and shared that I knew my photography business was meant to exist outside of just me and photography – that I wanted to have an agency made up of women and allies who would change the face of what video and other digital services has been up to this point.
It was during my time in that mastermind that I rebranded from just using my name to Solhaus Media, and introduced myself to the world as a woman-owned videography and photography agency.
Bringing It Back To Weekend @ The Pitch Club Event Videography
This year’s Weekend@ event was incredibly special for us, because it was the first event that Solhaus Media was hired as the official media team, which included three female photographers and two female videographers.
I also got to take the stage as a speaker and share my success story in front of 100+ women.
It was also super cool to have the video I produced from this year’s Inner Circle retreat play on a big screen at the event, which ultimately led to a $250,000 ROI for Rebecca.
It was a full-circle moment from my first time in that room, and incredibly validating.
Conclusion
Rebecca walked away from this event with a massive media library, which included a 3-minute promotional video to market her next event, as well as over 200 B-Roll video clips formatted for both social media and websites with which The Pitch Club team can create tons of content with, and over 1,000 images. What’s even better is that Rebecca shares all of these assets with speakers, sponsors, and attendees, so when they share it on their platforms, it does the marketing for her. Win-win-win-win. So many wins. Such a great weekend.
