4 WAYS TO MAXIMIZE YOUR MARKETING WITH PHOTO & VIDEO

With video taking center stage in the digital marketing space, many business owners are still trying to figure out how to best utilize the medium to market their business, and are also left wondering if those brand photos they invested so much money in are even still worth anything.

You can breathe a sigh of relief…no, you don’t have to dance and do cutesy videos on TikTok, and video actually makes photos more valuable today.

When combined, these two mediums are a powerhouse force in your marketing strategy, that get more eyes on your business and clients in your inbox.

Let’s get started on setting you up for maximum impact 👇🏼

01. GET VIDEO FROM
SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

Whether you’re leading a small workshop, or speaking on a stage in front of hundreds of people, getting video of your keynote goes a long way.

Ideally, you will want to hire a videographer for this, as they can mic you up and capture the goldmine of juicy soundbytes that will inevitably come from your presentation.

But if you’re flying solo, or the event organizers/venue don’t allow you to bring your own videographer (this is not uncommon), then you can still capture some great B-Roll and do a voice over or add text later, like this.

02. SAME-DAY POSTING

While video will be the gift that keeps on giving (more on that in a bit), anytime you are video-ed while you speak, make sure to post a Reel or video to wherever you have told the audience to find you in your CTA at the end of your presentation in 24-48 hours.

Doing so immediately keeps your message fresh and top of mind to the audience you just delivered it to.

This is another reason to hire your own videographer, or ensure you can obtain the footage from the event team right away (humble plug: we offer same-day Reel turnarounds for speakers at all the events we cover).

Afterwards, mine your video for every soundbyte possible to create loads of content to keep the conversation going long after you’ve left the stage.

This tip also works great for networking events — make sure to grab a few B-Roll clips, (make sure to get one with your face in it) while you’re out and about, and post a Reel using that footage within 24 hours. This is an instant way to follow up with everyone who you exchanged information with at the event.

03. YOUR WEBSITE

Video is incredibly potent when it comes to your website. Not only does it create a more dynamic experience for your viewers, enticing them to stay and learn about you more, one video on your website increases your visibility to Google by 53% (source: TechCrunch).

This is especially important if you are a local business or have a product-based business.

Even if your business does not depend on search results, having an intro video or Founder’s Story video on your website or landing page is imperative, especially if you are selling high-ticket offers and products, or again, using networking & coffee chats as one of your main marketing avenues.

There are a lot of steps in the buying-decision process, which will inevitably include potential clients and customers visiting your website. Having a high-connection touchpoint when they land on your page goes a long way in converting those lurkers into buyers.

04. PHOTOGRAPHY’S INCREASED VALUE IN A VIDEO ERA

While video is incredibly important in this age of digital marketing, let’s not forget about photography. And video actually means there are even MORE places that photos should be utilized.

The most important spot will be the thumbnails for your videos. Whether that’s a cover for your Reels, or a thumbnail on a YouTube video, high-quality, eye-catching imagery will get you way more clicks than a random, low-quality still image from your video with no context. This is especially true if you are running a luxury or high ticket brand.
